Is fashion ruining horror?

Has anybody else noticed how fashion has began to dominate horror films? The industry has gone from producing films such as The Exorcist to fashionable beautiful films such as Twilight. Fashion is becoming an ever increasing importance to peoples day to day lives, and it seems it is creeping into the horror industry. Since when did horror become non-horrific?! If anyone else has any views I would love to hear them/debate them with you.
